Look alive: a new scream queen has arrived. Jenna Ortega is joining a long line of Disney-stars-turned-household-names like Zendaya, Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo. After her humble beginnings as Harley Diaz in Disney’s Stuck in the Middle, she has slowly worked her way to Hollywood’s upper class in recent years with more mature roles. She starred as the snarky sister Ellie in the second season of Netflix’s crime thriller You, and the high school drama film The Fallout about a student navigating her trauma after a school shooting. Now, Ortega is taking the horror genre by storm, leading the latest instalments in longstanding franchises like Scream and Beetlejuice. Even Carpenter wants a slice of her intimidating, deadpan deliveries. And of course, we have to credit her for introducing the Addams Family to a new generation as the titular character of Netflix’s Wednesday.
But, aside from being the resident horror actress, Ortega is shaping up to be a stylish icon as well. During her press tour for Wednesday, she shows everyone how to embody gothic glam the right way. Her black ensembles, bleached eyebrows and smoky makeup scream Halloween fashion in the best way possible. Jaws dropped when she stepped out in John Galliano’s infamous Dior newspaper dress, or the 2002 Donna Karan dress at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
Jenna Ortega’s striking style can be credited to her longtime stylist, Enrique Melendez, who has worked with her since she was 14. Their enduring collaboration allows Melendez to perfectly capture Ortega’s essence, creating looks that feel authentic rather than contrived. Whatever she steps out in, it’s guaranteed to shock and stun.

Ortega embraces sartorial evolution with this haunting look by Ashi Studio. She walked the carpet of the London premiere of Wednesday’s second season in their Autumn/Winter 2025 couture collection. The floor-length gown is translucent, much like a snake shedding its old skin. The latex corset blends seamlessly into her skin with a high-necked top, distressed hem and mermaid trail. Ortega looked extra spooky with dark, straight hair and bleached eyebrows.

Ortega embraced the 2025 Met Gala theme, “Tailored for You,” quite literally with her custom Balmain dress. Crafted entirely from metal measuring rulers, the dress shimmered brilliantly under the camera flashes. This ingenious design pays homage to an often-overlooked tool, offering a subtle yet poetic tribute to the tailors who are the backbone of the fashion industry.

Carrie Bradshaw who? Ortega revived the iconic newspaper-print dress Sarah Jessica Parker made famous in Sex and the City. Originally designed by John Galliano for Dior’s Fall/Winter 2001 collection, the cowl-neck, asymmetrical-hemmed masterpiece is now a bona fide fashion relic. While the blonde, curly-haired Bradshaw walked down the streets of Manhattan in this dress in slow motion after ambushing her ex’s wife about their affair, Ortega chose a very different occasion to show it off. The actress appeared on the red carpet at the New York premiere of her film, Hurry Up Tomorrow, this time with her signature straight, black hair and gold stiletto sandals.
