From the ditzy redhead in Victorious to the pop sensation rocking her signature high ponytail, Ariana Grande has been exemplifying ‘thank you, next’ through her fashion and career. In 2024, Grande completed her full-circle moment, returning to her Broadway roots by playing Glinda in the 2024 film version of Wicked alongside Michelle Yeoh. With a top-selling vegan beauty line, r.e.m. beauty, under her belt, the multi-talented powerhouse has proved that there is not ‘only 1’ way she excels.
There is no mention of Ariana Grande without mentioning her thigh-high boots, which have accompanied her on stage and off. Cue: Her stage look for The Honeymoon Tour in 2015, which featured her black thigh-highs styled with lace bunny ears. Three years later in New York, Grande’s off-duty outfit starred her signature boots, oversized black sweatshirt, and a green belt bag cinched at the waist for a more defined silhouette. While the boots have now retired, opera gloves and fitted pieces characterise her style at r.e.m. beauty launches and at Wicked promotions on the Wicked set. It goes without saying that her Wicked press tour was saturated with Glinda glamour in all shades of bubblegum pink. Even though Grande’s style has evolved throughout her past fifteen years in the limelight, there remains a constant: a warm, dimpled smile that sweetens up any outfit.
Ariana Grande in Loewe
Global brand ambassador Ariana Grande manages to elevate Jonathan Anderson’s stunning gowns with an ethereal charm. The bespoke gown worn to the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was a masterpiece of silk satin and crêpon, its fine flowers blooming across the bodice and dotted across the train as though gracefully falling from the bunch. To echo Grande’s birthstone and character, Glinda the Good, Anderson designed a mother-of-pearl busiter and pleated chiffon skirt for the actress to wear at the 2024 Met Gala.
Ariana Grande in Louis Vuitton
Method dressing was a tenant in Grande’s Wicked press tour and Louis Vuitton lent a hand in completing the fantasy. At the BAFTAs, Grande opted for a two-tone dress with a black bodice and plunging neckline, which was juxtaposed by a voluminous pink skirt. At the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Awards, she echoed Glinda’s bubble ride by wearing a sleeveless light green bubble skirt.
Ariana Grande in Giambattista Valli
Giambattista Valli always rises to the occasion when Grande wants to make a fashion statement. Through the years, her Valli gowns have been marked by big, beautiful trains and over-the-top volume. For her December 2024 appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Grande wore a light pink strapless chiffon gown with a ruffled trim and smocked bodice from the brand’s Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection.
