SC Gallery presents a duo-exhibition by Hong Kong artists Cho Wing Ki and Lau Yin Yeung featuring their latest bodies of work that depict their daily lives. With a vibrant palette, Cho recreates the inviting feeling of her living circle. Through her paintings, she explores her position in society and her relationship to the external world. Meanwhile, Lau believes that even seemingly unrelated subjects are all interconnected, having delved into Buddhist philosophy in recent years. Through paintings, be it of landscapes or random objects, he explores the origins of his surroundings.

Worth Every Bite, ba d’arts

Worth Every Bite

“Every bite is worth more than we thought.… Eat like you mean it: Worth every bite.” As the exhibition note suggests, Worth Every Bite explores the deeper meaning behind food. Through the artworks of seven distinct artists, the exhibition shows how food is a vessel for memories, stories, and life, holding a bigger purpose than nourishment. The immersive exhibition features a long dining table with curious-looking eggs laid out on top, drawings of mouthwatering Hong Kong cuisine, and sculptures that inspire reflection.

As M+ points out, “environments are artworks in which viewers play an active role, stimulated by objects, light, moving image, and sound as they move through and around the work.” This exhibition presents the works of trailblazing women artists, including Judy Chicago, Aleksandra Kasuba, and Chiharu Sihota, who have had an enduring impact on the history of visual art. The works will be presented as full-scale reproductions, reconstructing the original through research and collaboration with experts and the artists themselves. While originally conceived and produced by Haus der Kunst München in 2023, the M+ presentation will be modifying the selection of artworks by adding a selection of environments by Asian women artists.
