Sabrina Carpenter has taken the stage in both music and fashion. Through pastel bodysuits, lipstick-stained garters, flirty lace fabrics, and ultra shiny tights, her dedication to old Hollywood theatrics has created a signature stage look that’s been paired with tongue-in-cheek innuendos and her emblematic blush look.

In 2023 Carpenter began working with her stylist, Jared Ellner, who worked closely with Victoria’s Secret and French brand, Patou, to pull runway looks and create custom pieces for her tour. The metallic, barely-there, pastel look has since become synonymous with the star. Alongside Carpenter, Ellner’s clients include the incredibly fashionable Emma Chamberlain and Rachel Sennot. 

Despite the boldest of silhouettes, Carpenter’s bedroom-ready performance looks embody an underlying softness, decorated with pastel hues, feathers and strings of pearls. This appears in the form of baby blue lace-up corsets, or skin-tight cat suits sweetened with boas and opera gloves. 

In her February cover story with Vogue, Carpenter said, “Short n’ Sweet is absolutely me. There’s no, like, alter ego. But it’s definitely a more emphasised version of me.” During the day, the abbreviated skirt lengths from her concerts reappear as flowing Galliano mini dresses, with her bedazzled boots swapped for metallic ballet flats. The colourful and flirty elements of her signature pin-up look shine through in her day-to-day style. Carpenter’s hit album title—both short and sweet—characterises itself in her on and offstage wardrobe, with the pop princess sporting femininity and whimsy around the clock.

For the Manchild music video, Sabrina wore Fendi Spring 1995 and ultra cropped Levi’s low rise shorts, for a high fashioned 70s hitchhiker look. The outfit was paired with silver pumps, adding a glimpse of her signature sparkle.

For the most important night for fashion, Louis Vuitton styled Sabrina in a tailored maroon dream. “You’re short, so no pants for you’ Carpenter reflects on a conversation with Pharrell. The look was completed with cherry pumps and draped accents trailing behind the leggy look.
