Step inside the reimagined COLTEX showroom, and be enveloped in a sanctuary of style which has been curated to ignite creativity. The brief to the designer, shares Cally Chan, co-founder and creative director of the company, was to craft an elegant retreat where clients can escape and immerse themselves in textural delights.
The journey begins with light. Three distinct temperatures, ranging from warm to cool, enable clients to customise the ambience to match the mood of their projects. Natural daylight floods through expansive windows, illuminating bespoke rugs and hand-painted wall coverings. Meanwhile, the heart of the showroom beats in the connected meeting and creativity rooms. Interconnected desks encourage fluid dialogue, while island tables in the sampling room invite tactile exploration and connections.
The material palette is a study in contrasts. Layered textiles mingle with chic patterned curtains and airy sheers. Laminated glass and hand-painted wall coverings, crafted by local artisans, add a unique touch. The Callidus Guild collection, exclusively available in Asia through COLTEX since 2016, adds a touch of glamour.
The colour story unfolds in creamy hues and lighter tones, creating a refined sense of comfort. Darker fabrics and a baby blue, checkered wall covering with subtle shimmer introduce an interplay of light and shade. Embossed champagne gold shimmer sheers, laminated within glass on sliding doors, capture and reflect light, to create a mesmerising scene.
The designer's brief focused on crafting a comfortable retreat amidst the city's hustle, allowing customers to escape and explore diverse material compositions to nurture their minds and inspire creativity.

This year, COLTEX embraces vibrant colours and unusual patterns inspired by historical motifs. Reflective materials make a subtle appearance. An exciting new section in the showroom, with a bolder aesthetic, is also on the horizon.
COLTEX distinguishes itself through its commitment to authenticity and individuality. They celebrate craftsmanship, rooted in Hong Kong’s culture and enriched by European production and local artisanship. Bespoke services in material development further set them apart. The future looks bright for the company: a range of local artisan hand-painted wall coverings, featuring innovative 3D textured techniques, is in development. This collection will blend painting, embroidery, and printing to showcase their exceptional creativity.
