Milan Fashion Week has drawn to a close, and while physical attendance was significantly scaled back compared to typical numbers, many brands including Valentino, Max Mara and Boss successfully hosted live runway shows for guests to attend in person. And with each show came the sartorially inclined audience that the phygital runways had been sorely missing. This season’s showgoers seemed to favour bold, monochromatic suiting choices, with the notable addition of fleece textures, tassels and feathered trims. No outfit was truly complete without the most important accessory of 2020: face masks. Sported in a range of colours and styles, they provided a not-so-subtle reminder of the precautions and care that go into hosting fashion shows in the midst of a pandemic.
